What I Cover

In my role producing and editing Opinion videos, I created the series “Adapt-Ability,” which helps viewers confront their discomfort with disability. I also helped launch Opinion’s vertical video efforts, collaborating with columnists and the editorial board, in addition to creating my own films.

My Background

I began working with The Times in 2021 when a short film about my visual disability was published by Opinion video. I expanded that film into my debut memoir, “Whale Eyes,” published by Penguin in 2025. I also created a spinoff video series profiling three individuals with three hard-to-explain conditions. My film about stuttering won an Emmy and I’ve received two additional Emmy nominations. I attended Duke University, where I studied documentary film as well as environmental science and policy.

Journalistic Ethics

As a Times journalist, I share the values and adhere to the standards of integrity outlined in The Times’s Ethical Journalism Handbook. The videos that I create are vigorously fact checked.
